· Call to order
Chairperson Teresa VonCannon opened the meeting and welcomed everyone. Group introductions were made.
· Motion was made and accepted to accept the March and May minutes.
· Steve Nichols gave treasurers report, motion was made and accepted.
· Report is as follows: Balance as of 6/30/06, $16,683.91
· Motion was made to earmark $8000.00 of current funds for a subcommittee to make recommendations of how to disburse, we should keep less than $10,000.00 in funds to maintain a “non profit” status and stay in line with the advice of our accountant.

· Reports:
NCDOT- New TIP list is out for 2007, can obtain it off of website. www.ncdot.org/planning/development/projectmgmt/12month
NC 1-Call- The center had a 3.3% increase in calls and 16 new members since last meeting, 321 total members.
NCUCC website has been updated.
NC 1-Call presentation of Positive Response, can call 1-877-632-5050 for updates and information on tickets.
811 will be effective in early May 07.
Next Board Meeting is July 21, 2006 at Jefferson Landing.
WEBTMS is the ticket management system purchased by NC 1-Call for the members to use, for more information contact Leslie Brady at the center.
15 current users and a couple others in testing.
Railroads- No railroad companies represented, there is a language change in the CSX encroachments that dictates 25 year term on agreements then renegotiation is required. Extra insurance requirements within 50’ of tracks.
Power Companies- Dominion, no report
Gas and Gas pipeline Co.- Piedmont NG doing management restructuring, no other reports.
Cable and Telecom Co.- Bellsouth merging with ATT, Bellsouth and Cingular names will go away. Pending some approvals.
Contractors- No reports
Locate companies- Taylor Wiseman Taylor, new branch office in Charlotte will do private locating.
Local UCC reports-
Doug Morris, Mecklenburg Co. @ 50 attendees 1/3 contractors, City of Charlotte developed a new work area handbook for work being done in Charlotte.
Richard Lawrence, Catawba Co. sponsored luncheon had good turn out with ˝ contractors.
Tim Southers, Foothills, having issues with DOT and small towns moving utilities
Sandra Johnson, Wake Co. tailgate safety meeting committee doing site visits with NCOCC paying for the refreshments have greatly reduced facility damages. Builds great relationships and makes good contacts.
Lola Ausby, North Hampton Co. Did field safety meeting and Carolina Cross Roads project, good outcome
Tom Ellis, Mayland UCC. Relatively new but doing good job getting contractors in.
Rick Mahaly, Davie Co. developed a good contact list and reducing damages.
· Suggestion was made to consider incorporating CGARP into NCUCC and start promoting best practices.
· NCOCC has WEBTMS and Positive Response brochures available.
· Video presentation of how to identify and react to a methlab, good presentation.
